1. Give it a good cleaning!

It is obvious that you should give your property a good cleaning. A prospective tenant might be put off by a dirty kitchen, bedroom and worse, an unclean and smelly bathroom! Kitchens and bathrooms should sparkle! Especially when the lady of the house is the decision maker, make very sure that the tiles and work surfaces are gleaming too. So, put on those rubber gloves and get on your knees.

2. Switch on those lights

Ensure that all the lights in the room are in good working condition and if it needs cleaning, ensure there is no dust. Good lighting can make or break a room and the mood during viewing. Arrive early on viewing day and switch on all the lights in the room. Do open the curtains for the extra light during the day.

3. Take care of the leaks

Give the ceilings and those spots a new paint of coat. Fix the taps and if your budget allows it, provide new and modern ones - which will really give your house a new and modern look. Check the toilet as well and ensure no leaks there.

4. Clear those clutter

Keep all the rooms clear of clutter. It is definitely a better idea to keep all those boxes and unwanted stuffs off your property. And if it is no more needed, just recycle them or give it away.

Take care of those unwanted smells. Place potpourri or air fresheners in your property to avoid those dampness and stuffiness smells. Again, do arrive early at the property and air out the room by opening all the windows and sliding doors.

This will spare you more time to look for your next profitable company. Avoid those bright and shocking colors such as green, purple and pink. Keep it neutral with pastel colors.

7. Keep the outside clean too

If your property has a garden, keep it as well maintained as possible. The pathways should be kept weed-free and ensure the shrubs are not overgrown. If yours is a condominium, do ensure the corridor is kept as clean as possible and give the exterior wall a coat of paint too.

8. Check, double check, and triple check

Do give your property a final once over before your prospective tenants comes for a viewing. First impressions counts - so make the best of it.
